We hope you enjoy our new short video, produced by our incredibly talented good friend Trent Freeman.
"Andrew has obviously done his homework on the music that he loves. Many of us in the modern string band field were beginning to wonder if our music was just a blip on the music map, but in the last couple of years, we have encountered a whole new generation of extremely talented young people who are getting ready to take this stuff to the next level. Andrew suddenly seems to be one of the major players in this field; both his concept and execution are original, while leaving no doubt as to his stylistic roots. He also seems to have a crucial something extra, the ability to lead and bring out a collective focus which will produce lasting important work that connects with the rest of the musical world."

New things to come...

With the new year knocking at the door, we are starting preparations for the next Andrew Collins Trio album.   That means, lots of rehearsing, practicing and a month of weekly gigs at my favorite local bar, The Cadillac Lounge.  Come out every wednesday night in January and hear us crash and burn our new works in progress.  Show starts at 8:00.

Australia here we come!

Coming this October, The Andrew Collins Trio is going to Australia, where the people are friendly, the accents are exotic, the animals are poisonous and the coffee is exceptional.  Our dates are posted here!   Huge thanks to the Canada Council for the Arts and the Ontario Arts Council for helping make this happen.

Instrumental Group of the Year!!!

Great news.   "A Play On Words" won the Instrumental Group of the Year at the Canadian Folk Music Awards this past weekend..  A great big thank you to the CFMA's for the honor.  Also, congrats to all of the other nominees and winners.

New live video!
